Why people have selected us for their heating and cooling needs

Why install a new heating unit?

When temperatures drop this winter, your current heating system will be heavily sollicited. If it is old and doesn’t work at peak efficiency, you will face:

      • Higher energy efficiency
      • Higher repair costs
      • Less comfort
      • Less safety

Just the higher energy costs and the additional cost of repairs could justify the investment into a new heat pump, or a new gas/electric package.

Our technicians can help you figure out the cost differential, and determine if this would work to your advantage financially.

Call our hotline at 520-664-3699 to make an appointment with one of our qualified consultants.
There is no commitment, no obligation on your part.

    USE YOUR TAX CREDITS (IRA)

The Inflation reduction Act (IRA) includes several tax credits to homeowners for installing ENERGY STAR®-certified air conditioning systems.

    Types of Heating Units

There are several types of heating units, each with their own benefits and efficiency ratings. What you would install at your home would depend on situation and budget. Let’s cover the various types briefly…

    Daikin DM96HS Gas Furnace
The Daikin brand DM96HS high-efficiency gas furnace with two-stage gas valve and multi-speed blower motor provides substantial energy efficiency with effective heating performance
Daikin Heat Pump DZ18VC for heating and cooling
The Daikin DZ18VC is a high-efficiency heat pump, powered by a variable-speed swing compressor, ensuring it can reach up to 19 SEER performance.

    Heating Furnaces

Furnaces blow warm air through ducts all the way into the house. This heating system is called “ducted warm-air” or “forced warm air”. In Arizona, these furnaces are powered by gas or electricity.

The US Department of Energy states: “A central furnace… efficiency is measured by its annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE)… AFUE is a measure of how efficient the furnace is in converting the energy in its fuel into heat over the course of a typical year.”

If you have natural gas lines by your home, it may be less expensive to add a furnace to your A/C than to install a heat pump.

    Heat pumps

In winter, heat pumps use electricity to extract heat from the air outside your home and blow it into your home. In summer, they reverse the direction: they pull warm air out of your home and cool it down with a refrigerant.

The efficiency rating of a heat pump can be as higher as 300 percent. It only takes one unit of electrical energy to move three units of heat into the home.

Heat pumps are a natural choice there are no gas lines near your home. When the temperature outside drops below freezing, however, a heat pump is not that efficient.

    Gas/Electric Packages

Gas packaged units include a gas furnace system for heating instead of electric heat strips. Gas pack systems are typically installed on rooftops or ground level.

Some of Daikin gas/electric packaged models comes with an energy-efficient compressor, two-stage heating and cooling, a variable-speed ECM blower motor, and an aluminum evaporator coil.

They may also allow for an easy conversion from natural gas to propane.

Daikin DH16: Heat Pump Installation in Oro Valley

NEW INSTALLATION IN ORO VALLEY: DAIKING DP16 HEAT PUMP

Another successful rooftop installation in less than a day, in the south area of Oro Valley.

This Daikin DP16 Heat Pump was selected based on several technology benefits:

    • Two-stage heating and cooling
    • Variable speed blow motor
    • 3 tons of A/C
    • 16 SEER efficiency
    • Long warranties

The unit was hoisted on the roof of the house using a special 75-ft crane. We removed the existing AC unit before, and we will dispose of its material for recycling.
The heat pump is protected from the sun exposure by Sun Shield, and we installed flex connectors to provide the necessary flexibility between components.
D&H AC will ensure the maintenance of the Heat Pump and all associated systems, to keep it operating at optimum capacity.

    BULLET-PROOF WARRANTIES:

AC installation crew in the Catalina Foothills

JUST INSTALLED THIS DAIKIN HEAT PUMP PACKAGE – GREAT WARRANTIES

The Daikin DP14HM packaged heat pump has an energy-efficient compressor, a single-stage heating and cooling, a multi-speed ECM blower motor, and an all-aluminum evaporator coil.

This heat pump system is rated 14 SEER.

    WARRANTIES:

Daikin comes with the best warranties among the HVAC manufacturers.

    12 Year Compressor
    12 Year Parts
    1 Year Labor
2 Year Unit Replacement if the compressor fails

D&H AC rolls in a maintenance agreement when we install your new A/C unit, so that you don’t have to worry about its operation at maximum efficiency.

We just installed this unit on a roof in the Catalina Foothills, in the Los Ranchos Perkins community (85718). Due to the higher exposure to the sun (roof-mounted unit, elevated area), we added a Sun Shield to enhance protection against ultraviolet rays.

WHY IS THIS a good time to consider replacing your older A/C system? Air conditioners lose a bit of their efficiency every year. With energy prices going up, the more efficient your HVAC system is, the less your utility bills. D&H AC offers many solutions tailored to your exact needs. Call our hotline to discuss with a technician and see what options are available to you.

HOW WE PAIR GAS FURNACE & AIR CONDITIONER FOR A HIGHER “SEER”

We completed this air conditioning installation in Rancho Vistoso, a beautiful community in the northern section of Oro Valley. We paired a Daikin DX16TC (whole house air conditioning unit) with a Daikin DM80VC (gas furnace). Why?

The DX16TC comes with an efficiency rating of 14.5 SEER. It is a quiet, reliable air conditioner with solid technology like a high-efficiency two-stage compressor. However, the 14.5 SEER can be enhanced up to 17 SEER when it is paired with the right gas furnace.

The homeowners opted for a Daikin DM80VC: a two-stage, variable-speed gas furnace. Variable speed means continuous adjustment of temperature for a lower power usage.

The cost of electricity is going up: reducing your power bill impacts your monthly household budget. Older air conditioners are like 1970s cars: gas guzzlers! Their efficiency rating decreases with age.

Call D&H to receive sound advice on lowering your utility bill with the right air conditioning technology.
