Daikin DP16HM Gas Package & Heat Pump

‘Package air conditioning units’ are all-in-one systems which provide heating and cooling from a single unit. Modern systems come with more choices than ever before.

Heat Pumps: These all-electric heating and cooling systems provide both heating and cooling. You can choose from an entry-level 15 S.E.E.R, entry level, all the way up to super high efficiency 21 S.E.E.R., inverter systems. You can also choose between systems with basic warranties all the way up to 12 years of coverage. Obviously, the higher the SEER rating, the lower your energy usage. High SEER systems are entirely built around the need for efficiency, with saving on power usage. A heat pump is heat transporter: it removes warm air from your home during the summer, and in winter, it reverses operation to bring warm air in.

Gas Package Units: These units use natural gas to heat your home and electricity to keep you cool in the summer. There again, different energy efficiency options are available, from a 14 SEER. entry-level sysyem, to a 16 SEER gas/electric package (DP16GM, DP16UM ULN). Warranty coverage can extend up to 12 years.

(*) HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) is a term used in the heating and cooling industry. HSPF is specifically used to measure the efficiency of air source heat pumps. Depending on the system, an HSPF of 8 and higher can be considered high efficiency and get the homeowner an Energy Tax Credit. Consumer Reports just published an article about the tax credits made available by the Federal government under the Inflation Reduction Act when you install a heat pump. Call D&H to learn specifically what tax credit would apply to your situation.
