Tucson HVAC Company Raises Big DollarsFor MS CureAt The Behest Of Employee’s Wife

Tucson, AZ – On March 18, 2017, nearly 1,000 Tucsonans will take on a 2-mile walk at Reid Park to raise an expected $65,000 for the fight to cure MS. Among them: Jackie, long-time MS patient, and D&H AC, a local HVAC company sponsoring the event.

Diagnosed with MS in 2009, Jackie admits that this disease has changed her perspective. “I’m always looking at the positive and not letting the little things bother me.” As a volunteer for the National MS Society, she and her husband Randy knocked loudly at the door of Randy’s employer, D&H AC (www.DandHAC.com), to support this 24th Annual Walk MS.

“I know a cure is possible in the near future,” says Jackie, “but fundraisingis essential for research to continue. Randy thought that D&H AC would be sympathetic to our plight, so we asked for their sponsorship.”

As Phillip Robles, Randy’s direct boss, explains: “Jackie and Randy asked for our help: we had to support their inspiring fight.”

It is difficult for small businesses to commit significant funds tocharity. However, D&H AC presented their case toDaikin,a worldwide manufacturer of air conditioning systems represented here in Tucson by D&H AC. “Daikin’s managementshowed amazing support,” says Phillip Robles,“and agreed to donate a complete air conditioning system, worth well over $7,000.”

With the dollar value of the labor given away by D&H AC to engineer and install the system, Jackie will hopefully raisenearly $10,000for her charity. This powerful chain of support shows how volunteers and small local businesses can leverage their relationships to become a fundraising force.

Lisa Cleary, of the National MS Society, commented: “Generous local businesses such as D&H AC and big businesses like Daikin can muster tremendous power when they act together. Their dollars will spread education and awareness about MS, and fund research to find a cause and a cure to the disease. We are truly grateful for this amazing show of support.”

On March 18, the Daikin air conditioning system will go on the auction block. The highest bidder will receive a unit completely tailored by D&H AC for their home, and 100%of the auction proceeds will benefit the National MS Society. For Jackie and Randy, this 24th Annual Walk MS will be a date to remember in their fight against MS.

We accepted the challenge to raise funds for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona by participating in their SWEAT FOR PETS: Walk, Run & Roll. We asked for your generous support and you responded! Thank you so much!!

Your contribution is used directly to help homeless, injured and neglected animals in our community. The Humane Society of Southern Arizona receives no government funding, so anything helps.

The event was a complete success: the Humane Society surpassed its initial goal of $40,000. By mid-day their generous supporters had raised $60,000!

D&H AC sponsors "Walk Like MADD" to raise awareness against underage drinking

Walking for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)

Founded by a mother whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver, Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD) is the nation’s largest nonprofit working to protect families from drunk driving and underage drinking.

D&H AC is a long-time supporter of the law enforcement community of Southern Arizona, and the cause advocated by MADD directly contribute to keeping law and order in our streets, and saving lives by helping parents open a dialogue with their children to reduce underage drinking.

“Walk Like MADD” is the signature fundraising event of MADD; it is meant to help raising both awareness and funds to eliminate drunk driving. in 2015, tens of thousands of people in over 80 cities across the nation participated, and together, they raised almost 3 million dollars to provide MADD’s programs and services at no cost.

This year, D&H AC and their staff added their voice to MADD’s voices, and our company raised over $1,000 to help MADD.

Supporting the Tucson Community through the Humane Society of Southern Arizona

Everyone at D & H loves their pets.  This is why we were excited by the opportunity to help the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, a great organization that does so much for these soon-to-be-pets. We assembled a team and on November 1st 2015 our D&H AC team participated in the SWEAT FOR PETS WALK, RUN & ROLL.

The goal was to raise $35,000. The Humane Society raised $42,200 and more donations are on the way.

SWEAT FOR PETS: Walk, Run & Roll supports your hometown animal shelter. All proceeds go directly back to saving the lives of the homeless and neglected animals.

And this was our (goofy) D&H AC team logo:

What is the Humane Society of Southern Arizona?

“Today, we work to give the best care to each homeless pet that comes through our doors. We go to extraordinary efforts to ensure all pets get care and love from our staff before they go to the homes where they will be cared for and loved for the rest of their lives.

But we are so much more than a shelter. In addition to the Low Cost Spay & Neuter services, we offer low-cost vaccinations to help keep the pets of our community healthy. And to ensure that the lives of our pets continue to improve, we have an extensive Education and Outreach program to teach the importance of humane treatment and proper care of pets.

Combined, these programs make up the pillars of our organization.

Because of the our extensive programs, our dedication to the welfare of animals now and in the future, and our ability to save an average of 95 percent of the pets we receive, we proudly acknowledge our role as a leader in the practices of the “No-Kill”  movement.

Most importantly, we are long-standing part of this community – one that is on a journey to create a better future for pets and the people who love them. We are thrilled to be making that journey with Tucson.”
