We were on the southside of Tucson, between I-19 and I-10, in the Bravo Park Lane neighborhood. We performed a seasonal tune-up on a 6-year old split gas: we started cooling and checked the refrigerant pressure (outdoor temperature: 57°F). We tested the compressor amps (recommended a hard-start kit to lower start-up amps and prolong the life of the compressor), tested the outdoor fan motor amps. The system starter was ok. The disconnect box with surge protector was ok, the evaporative coil was clean, the blower wheel was ok. We checked the filter (clean), took the split-temp, checked all wiring and connections, tested current controllers. The system is working fine. We recommended the hard-start kit to our clients.
