D&H to open state-of-the-art HVAC Training Center: Why it Matters to Homeowners

D&H’s owner, Brett Wright, was on the “Morning Blend” show on KGun 9, discussing a breakthrough in the HVAC industry: the opening of D&H’s state-of-the-art Training Center in 2020 with, for the first time in the industry nationwide, a fully functioning 3-bedroom model house INSIDE the Training Center. Why?

KGun 9’s Morning Blend show host interviews Brett Wright, President of D&H Air Conditioning in Tucson, about the opening in 2020 of D&H state-of-the-art Training Center in Tucson

Why will this be the new standard in the industry and why does it matter for Tucson homeowners?

As D&H’s owner, Brett Wright, explains: Our clients expect HVAC technicians to be respectful of their home, and to proceed with maintenance checks and service repair quickly and professionally. By training our personnel in quasi-real conditions from their first interaction with homeowners to the moment they leave with the A/C unit repaired or maintained, D&H wants to bring all our technicians to the highest standards of customer service.

D&H’s model home built inside the Training Center will be equipped with video cameras and microphones linking to a control center where all the technicians’ interactions will be video recorded for quality control purposes: the recorded training videos will be reviewed with each air conditioning technician by D&H’s training personnel, and any misstep or hesitation will then be addressed to make sure our NATE-certified technicians are 100% flawless from beginning to end, whatever the challenges thrown at them are.

Already, all the big players in the air conditioning service industry nationwide follow with high interest the construction of our Training Center. This is the first time an HVAC contractor takes this huge of a step to ensure their technicians are 100% perfect. D&H Air Conditioning is establishing a new training standard in the HVAC industry.

Early Views of the HVAC Training Center

Can perfect HVAC service be achieved?

There are many different types of homes requiring many different configurations of duct work, filtering and A/C power. Different home owners also have different expectations in terms of level of service.

HVAC techniques and calculations can be codified into training processes to ensure HVAC technicians always meet the highest standards of installation with the most predictable results. These processes extend to how technicians interact the most appropriate manner with clients, how to respond to questions in a manner that is educational and satisfactory to clients. Likewise, HVAC technicians can be trained to make sure they leave “no trace behind”, so that home owners be perfectly satisfied with the process of installing their HVAC system.

While our goal is to approach this 100% perfection 100% of the time, to a 100% client satisfaction, we are aware that people are not machines, and that they have good days and bad days. Processes and HVAC training help already well-trained NATE-certified technicians to accomplish their mission, but they won’t prevent all errors. However, by continuously training our technicians in the best way to install air conditioning systems, we aim at improving our standards of delivery and quality.
