D&H services all types of air conditioning units in the Canyon Ranch Estates
Our service call of the day was performed in the Canyon Ranch Estates area, near the Sabino Creek wash and Snyder Road, right in the east Foothills of Tucson. We were called to do a spring maintenance on 7-year old Lennox gas split. Here’s what went down: we serviced and checked the system for proper operation. We checked the refrigerant levels, the motor amps, the current controllers, the unit starter, and all electrical connections: wiring, temps, safeties. Then we checked the static pressures, the ducts, the drain, filter, coils We did check all the electronics including the compressor ohms, and the thermostat. We had to clear out the drain line and to wash the condenser coils. Arizona weather is hard on air conditioning units. Upon inspection, we found the Lennox unit had negative subcooling: this is an indication that the system undercharges. We performed a leak search as a precaution and did not detect any leaks at this time. We recharged the system with 5 lbs R-410a and used Super Seal. This sealant is not a guaranteed fix, but if it does not work, we can detect the leak since it leaks out at as fluorescent dye. Most probable cause of leak: formicary corrosion taking place on copper coils, accelerated due to the moisture introduced by the steam humidifier in place. We installed coil guards at the evaporator coil inlet to prevent further damaging corrosion. Call us at [phone] and ask about our Family Planned Maintenance contract. Use our coupon for new systems.
